Broken is about the soul fragmentation of the psyche, a nostalgic view  point of the pain & suffering humans endure. From control, repression, shadows of the ego, that lead to fear & despair  of the human psyche within. To  disfiguration, carnage & dis-embodiment from wars & conflict.
